We took inspiration from the “heart beats” data that we can now access in real time with wearables such as the Apple Watch, and asked ourselves: what can we learn from it?
We researched the “coaching techniques” used by professional corporate coaches and found the link between emotional control and desired actions. We tested the changes in heart beats related to different emotions and figured out that there was a real connection between the two: moments of happiness or anger generate changes in heart beats. We designed a very simple app that tracks shifts in heart rate and asks users how they feel in that moment. The result is an emotion diary and a consciousness of emotional behaviour. We also implemented an AI driven ChatBot that would engage the user when recording an emotion, to deepen their ability to control them.
